Trowbridge GP Dr Steve Rowlands has been elected chairman of Wiltshire
Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), the new doctor-led organisation
that will be responsible for buying local health services
in Wiltshire.
The CCG will come into force in April 2013 when NHS Wiltshire is
abolished but it will work alongside the primary care trust this year.
Dr Rowlands, a senior partner at the Bradford Road Surgery in
Trowbridge, used to be on West Wiltshire Primary Care Trust and is
medical director of NHS Wiltshire, a role he will continue. He will
act as interim chairman of the CCG until it is fully launched.
